Urban Heat Islands

The construction materials used for buildings and roads in cities absorb and retain heat from the sun during the day.

At the same time, this retained heat in turn is emitted into the atmosphere.

This forms the " Urban Heat Island " effect, which affects population centers worldwide.

The image on the left side shows the temperature difference between an urban area and its surroundings :

By protecting building materials with reflective coatings such as those by nasacoat, solar heat is reflected back, and these materials do not retain any heat.

This way, there is no further emission of stored heat to the atmosphere, and the " Urban Heat Island " effect is greatly reduced.

If the entire city center was protected with reflective coatings, the effect of " Urban Heat Island " would be lowered by 75% or more.

In the picture on the right you can see the considerable decrease of the "Urban Heat Island" effect after application of reflective coatings such as those by nasacoat.
